I Didn’t Become This Version of Myself by Accident
I learned how to understand myself — and how to lead myself differently
About Talena
Hi, I’m Talena Slipchuk.
I know what it feels like to hold everything together —
while quietly carrying more than you let on.
To be the one others rely on.
To handle things, keep things steady, and make sure everything works.
And over time, that becomes how you operate.
You take on more than you should.
You stay available — even when it costs you.
You feel responsible for how things go, how people feel, and how situations unfold.
You adjust yourself to keep things smooth.
You avoid creating tension — even when something doesn’t feel right.
And in the moment, you override yourself.
You know what you want.
You know what you actually feel.
But you go with what’s easier, or what keeps everything steady instead.
And this doesn’t just show up in small moments.
It shows up in your relationships.
You stay longer than you should.
You tolerate what doesn’t fully align.
You carry more than is yours to carry.
And slowly, you feel it —
You’re not fully yourself in your own life.
For a long time, it can feel normal.
Because it’s how you’ve learned to function.
This is what over-functioning and self-abandonment patterns look like —
when they’ve been normalized.
And at some point, you start to see it.
Not as personality.
Not as “just how you are.”
But as something you’ve been operating from.
Old patterns helped you survive.
They were never meant to become who you are.
What I Realized Changed Everything
Â
The way I was thinking, responding, and moving through my life wasn’t random.
It was patterned.
And because I didn’t see it,
I kept trying to change outcomes —
without changing what was actually driving them.
I wasn’t leading the life I wanted.
I didn’t feel like myself —
and I could see the gap between who I was
and how I was actually showing up.
The pressure, the overthinking, the self-doubt —
they weren’t personality traits.
They were learned ways of operating.
And once I began to understand those patterns,
I stopped trying to force change from the outside —
and started shifting what was underneath.
That’s where everything began to change.Â
What I Do NowÂ
I help high-functioning women move beyond the survival patterns they once believed were their identity and into self-leadership—building self-trust so they can operate with grounded clarity and confidence, and embody authentic elegance in how they live.
This Is Where the Work Begins
I don’t teach surface-level confidence or temporary motivation.
I teach women how to understand how they’ve been operating —
and how to lead themselves differently from within.
This is where clarity replaces noise.
Where reaction becomes choice.
Where self-trust becomes consistent — not occasional.
When you understand the pattern,
you stop feeling controlled by it.
And you begin to move through your life differently —
in how you respond, make decisions, and show up.
As I continued doing this work in my own life, I became deeply committed to understanding why these patterns form and how they begin to change.
I studied emotional intelligence, nervous system regulation, attachment patterns, limiting beliefs, behavior change, and self-leadership — not as theory alone, but as a way to understand what happens when a woman begins leading herself differently.
The Survival to Elegant Self-Leadership Method™ was shaped through lived experience, deep study, and practice.
The Survival to Elegant Self-Leadership Method™
This work is built on a structured approach to help you:
Recognize the patterns you’ve been operating from
Understand how those patterns were formed
Learn how to regulate and respond differently
Build self-trust through consistent self-leadership
Old patterns helped you survive.
They were never meant to become who you are.
This work is about elevating into a more authentic, confident, self-led version of yourself — while no longer identifying with the patterns that kept you disconnected from who you are becoming.
It is about working with yourself intentionally, applying the work internally, and allowing that shift to reflect in how you live, respond, choose, and move through your life.
The Woman You’ve Been Trying to Become Isn’t Out of Reach
She operates with clarity.
She trusts herself in how she thinks, decides, and moves through her life.
She doesn’t override herself in the moment.
She doesn’t adjust to keep everything smooth.
She doesn’t feel the need to prove or manage how she’s perceived.
She moves with a steadiness that comes from knowing —
not questioning — who she is.
And at some point,
she stops feeling like someone you’re trying to become…
and starts feeling like you.
